The Willow Tea Rooms were designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for his long term patron and client, Miss Kate Cranston, in 1903 and he was given full design of the exterior, interior, decoration and even the cutlery and crockery. The Willow Tea Rooms Trust bought the Tea Rooms and the adjacent building in 2014 with the aim of repairing, restoring and refurbishing the Tea Rooms and additional facilities. The project was recently completed on the 150th anniversary of Mackintosh’s birth and is now trading as ‘Mackintosh at the Willow’.

Our Friends visit includes lunch in the beautiful Salon de Luxe, an introductory talk and tour of the buildings by architect and Willow Tea Rooms Trustee, Stewart Brown, and entry to the exhibition about Miss Cranston and Mackintosh.
