About

Spin is our monthly contemporary art discussion group which in normal times, met on the last Thursday of the month in galleries and studio spaces across Edinburgh. Since the first lockdown in March 2020, our conversations and meet-ups went online. We have continued to chat to artists and curators each month exploring and talking about art and ideas being produced today.

We have a limited number of tickets available for non-members to join our conversation with City Art Centre curator Maeve Toal to discuss their exhibition Marine: Ian Hamilton Finlay. With many works also in the National Galleries of Scotland collection, Ian Hamilton Finlay (1925-2006) was an internationally renowned Scottish artist and Britain’s most significant concrete poet of the twentieth century. This major exhibition focuses on the maritime theme in Finlay’s work. The exhibition is free but ticketed and is on display until Sunday 3 October.
