Spin is our monthly contemporary art discussion group. We have a limited number of tickets available for non-members to join a special out of hours exhibition tour and conversation with curator of photography Louise Pearson about the Counted: Scotland’s Census exhibition. This is a great opportunity to chat over refreshments and to ask questions in an informal group setting.
Bus numbers 10, 11, 12, 16, 26 and 44 all go past the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. Alternatively, take any Princes Street or city centre bus, to the East end of Princes Street, opposite Waverley steps and walk through St Andrew Square, turning left onto Queen Street.
The Scottish National Portrait Gallery is a few minutes’ walk from Waverley Station. Take the Princes Street exit, cross the road and walk the short distance through St Andrew Square, turning left onto Queen Street.
Follow routes for city centre and city centre attractions. There is no car park at the Gallery, and very limited on-street parking near the venue. We recommend that you park your car in one of the many city centre car parks instead.
The Portrait Gallery is located in the city centre near St Andrews Square. It is a 10 minute walk from the Scottish National Gallery and a 15 minute walk from the Royal Mile.
