About

Join leading Mackintosh expert Pamela Robertson and Philip Long, the director of V&A Museum of Design in Dundee, at the Aye Write festival in Glasgow, where they will discuss the life and times of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Pamela Robertson and Philip Long are authors of the newly revised edition of the popular title Charles Rennie Mackintosh in France. This book is the first publication to discuss this period of Mackintosh's work in depth. It includes extracts from Mackintosh's letters written while in France, to friends and family and is extensively illustrated with key artworks from this time.

Known worldwide for his architecture and interior designs, Charles Rennie Mackintosh was also an extremely gifted painter. Towards the end of his life he gave up his principal career as an architect and moved to the south of France where he devoted himself to painting in watercolour.
