To mark the opening of Scottish artist Katie Paterson’s major presentation as part of NOW at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, the artist will be in conversation with Dr Brian Castriota, Contemporary Art Conservator and Research Fellow, University Glasgow and Lucy Askew, Chief Curator, Modern and Contemporary Art, NGS. Together, they will discuss how Paterson explores time in her practice, and the different ways her works are made present and absent through time in both the short- and long-term. This talk is presented in partnership with NACCA (New Approaches in the Conservation of Contemporary Art) and will touch on themes relating to Paterson’s art-making and curatorial projects, and the perpetuation of her works.
We are currently working on improving our galleries. During this time some rooms will be closed and some facilities will be temporarily removed. There will be limited disabled access to some areas.
