About

Lessons of the Hour is Isaac Julien's ten-screen film installation inspired by the life of Frederick Douglass, the visionary African American writer, abolitionist and self-emancipated slave. Join us to see the film and find out about classroom resources that explore the continued relevance of Douglass' words and actions.

All educators welcome, particularly aimed at secondary History, Modern Studies and Art & Design teachers. In partnership with Edinburgh Art Festival. The exhibition runs at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern One) 29 July-10 October.
