International Womens Day: Gerda Stevenson - Quines

  • Tuesday 5 March, 12:45-1:30pm

Gerda Stevenson’s latest and highly acclaimed book, Quines: Poems in Tribute to Women of Scotland (Luath Press, 2018) includes tributes in verse to many of the women featured in the National Galleries of Scotland collection. Among them are Mary, Queen of Scots, Saint Margaret, the Countess of Buchan, Elsie Inglis, Isobel Wylie Hutchison, Dorothy Johnstone, Moira Shearer, Gunnie Moberg and Maud Sulter. On the eve of International Women’s Day, Gerda will read from Quines and talk about the lives and achievements of these remarkable women, who inspired her poetry. The event will include a question and answer session with the audience, and book-signing.
