About

To celebrate 70 years of Indian independence in 2017, the landmark exhibition  India and the World: A History in Nine Stories was presented as a collaboration between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) Mumbai, the British Museum in London and the National Museum, New Delhi, with the support of the Ministry of Culture.

In the first in a series of occasional lectures by international speakers considering the role of culture and museums in the 21st century, Dr Mukherjee, Director of CSMVS talks about the exhibition as a celebration of India’s cultural connection with the world.
