- Thursday 24 September
Sir David Wilkie's (1785-1841) famous paintings in the National Galleries of Scotland are much loved. Less familiar for many, however, will be his drawings, which not only illustrate how carefully he crafted his compositions, but also show how wonderfully fluid and expressive he could be when working with chalk or ink or watercolour on paper. A selection of his finest drawings will form the focus of this short talk, the last in the series of works on paper by Christopher Baker, Director of European and Scottish Art and Portraiture.
This talk will be available from Thursday 24 September via our Friends email newsletter. It is part of a new series of exclusive online talks providing our Friends events programme in a different format. There will be two per month, with each remaining available for two weeks so you can choose when you would like to watch them.
No booking or advance registration is required in order to view these free Friends-only talks. The links to view them will be sent out each fortnight as part of our email newsletter. If you have a Friends membership but do not currently receive our Friends email newsletter, please contact [email protected] to sign up.
