Charlotte Topsfield, Senior Curator Prints & Drawings, National Galleries of Scotland, introduces the story of James Cowan Smith, whose bequest of £55,000 in 1919 helped to transform the Scottish National Gallery collection, and his Dandie Dinmont terrier Callum.
