In Focus: Four Paintings by Francis Bacon

  • Tuesday 26 February, 12.45-1.15pm

Francis Bacon's treatment of the human figure was both rooted in tradition and radically modern in its sensibility. Art Historian Dr Andrew Paterson will take the current display of three paintings from the early years of Bacon's career, together with one from the end of his life, as the starting point for an investigation of the artist's unique creative process.
