Tue 19 Feb 2019
12:45 - 1:15pm
This gallery talk focuses on the paintings by David Allan currently on display in Room 10. Allan played a key role in Scottish art history. He developed highly innovative approaches to portraiture and scenes of everyday life which influenced a number of subsequent artists, including Sir David Wilkie. Tricia Allerston, Co-Director of The Scottish National Gallery Project, introduces this important Scottish artist via the two important paintings on display.
