Allan Ramsay is a key figure in Scottish art history and also an intriguing one whose career did not follow a well-trodden path. Tricia Allerston, Co-Director of The Scottish National Gallery Project, introduces this important Scottish artist via two paintings by Ramsay (currently showing in Room 10).
