About

Allan Ramsay is a key figure in Scottish art history and also an intriguing one whose career did not follow a well-trodden path. Tricia Allerston, Co-Director of The Scottish National Gallery Project, introduces this important Scottish artist via two paintings by Ramsay (currently showing in Room 10). She will also refer to an important painting recently reinstalled in Room 14.
