In 1964 the sculptor and painter Alberto Giacometti invited the young American critic and influential admirer James Lord to sit for him in his Paris studio. Having promised that the portrait sitting would last a few hours, in the end it took many days as a friendship developed between the two men. This final portrait is considered by many as Giacometti’s last great picture. The film stars Geoffrey Rush and gives an insight into the profundity and chaos of the artistic process.
