Dean Village was once an Edinburgh powerhouse, the Water of Leith driving the mills which ground the grain to feed the Old Town. Many associated buildings survive, some with unique carved stones. A crossing point on the way to Queensferry, the Village later became the home and haunt of numerous artists. Dean Village Association volunteers will lead guided tours, explaining the history and recounting the tales.
Please note: this walking tour is on uneven ground.
