Come along to our free, movie-themed adventureland. Inspired by the fantastical creations in our exhibition Ray Harryhausen: Titan of Cinema, our play area is open every day and is FREE! Join us for a play among flying saucers and the mighty Cyclops, slide down a dragon's tail, clamber across a rope bridge and peek into movie cameras to see beasts in the Gallery.
The play area will close if it has been raining and the ground is wet. This is to protect the Landform and reduce the likelihood of visitors slipping.
This event has been funded by Museums Galleries Scotland as part of the Scottish Government’s Get into Summer programme, supporting opportunities for children and young people to socialise, play and reconnect this summer.
Parking for visitors is available at both Modern One and Modern Two. A donation is requested of £3 for up to 4 hours and £6 for 4-8 hours. Our payment meters have contactless capability.
The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is located 15 minutes’ walk from Princes Street. It includes two buildings, Modern One and Modern Two, set in a beautiful sculpture park.
In addition to the transport options below there are bike racks at each site and Just Eat Cycle Hire stations nearby.
Friends of the Galleries get free unlimited entry to all exhibitions, and enjoy a wide range of exclusive benefits including early exhibition access, special events and 10% discount in our cafes.
