Anne Lyden, Chief Curator, Photography at the National Galleries of Scotland will talk about the current ARTIST ROOMS exhibition, Self Evidence | Photographs by Woodman, Arbus and Mapplethorpe, currently on display at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. With a particular focus on self-portraiture and representation the talk will explore the connections and similarities between Francesca Woodman (1958-1981), Diane Arbus (1923-1971) and Robert Mapplethorpe (1946-1989): three American photographers, each of whom produced bodies of work that were revolutionary, groundbreaking and at times controversial.
We would also like to remind Friends that all blue badge parking has been suspended on the Mound Precinct. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this and please be assured that we aim to re-instate the bays as soon as possible.
We are currently working on improving our galleries. During this time some rooms will be closed and some facilities will be temporarily removed. There will be limited disabled access to some areas.
