The Granton Art Centre is Scotland’s first purpose-built art store for paintings, drawings and sculptures from the national collection. It provides 1,300 square metres of secure and climate-controlled storage space.
It is a living archive, full of potential inspiration for artists, researchers, schools, and individuals where visitors are able to see artworks up close.

Doors Open Days
In recent years the Art Movement Team has taken part in Edinburgh and East Lothian Doors Open Days, run by the Cockburn Association. Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates heritage and the built environment. It offers free access to over a thousand venues across the country throughout September, every year.
Due to COVID-19, we created digital resources for Doors Open Day 2021 and 2020 that you see below.
