Individual vibrant greeting card featuring the artwork Reverie (from the portfolio 'Eleven Pop Artists, vol. II') by American artist Roy Lichtenstein from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection.

Roy Lichtenstein was an American pop artist. During the 1960s, along with Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, and James Rosenquist among others, he became a leading figure in the new art movement.

Lichtenstein’s work of the mid-1960s is dominated by images of women, often taken directly from comic-strip stories from girls’ comics such as ‘Secret Hearts’. These heroines, who were typically blonde, are instantly recognisable as the glamorous and perfect all-American girl but at the same time are far removed from reality. As demonstrated in this print, he would simplify the background to focus on the face, which took up the largest portion of the image.

Packaged with white envelope in cello bag and printed on 300gsm paper.
