Robert Burns greeting card featuring the famous quote “o wad some pow’r the giftie gie us to see oursels as ithers see us!” With an illustration of the world-famous Edinburgh castle by Scottish company Hole in my Pocket.

The quote is from the 1786 Scots language poem by Robert Burns "To A Louse, On Seeing One on a Lady's Bonnet at Church" roughly translated to mean ‘Oh, would some Power give us the gift. To see ourselves as others see us!

“To a Louse” written about a well-dressed woman Burns noticed in church who he observed having a louse in her hair and contemplated what it would be like if we saw ourselves though the eyes of others.

Perfect for any occasion whether it’s Burns night, New Year or the resident poet in your family.

This is a thick 16pt, FSC credited paper stock. With a light satin coating on the outside, the inside is left uncoated, making it easier for you to write your own message. Designed and made in Scotland.

Each card is individually scored, ensuring a clean fold and comes with a simple 100% recycled brown envelope.
