Mabel Royds 2023 pocket year planner
This gorgeous and practical month-to-view year planner features on the cover the colourful and beautiful woodcut Snowdrops by Mabel Royds from the National Galleries of Scotland’s collection.
Royds was an artist best known for mastery of the woodcut technique inspired by Japanese woodcuts. With her simple, daring line she captured the fantastical nature of flowers, ranging from magnolias to water lilies, daisies, tulips and many more.
In 1911, Royds settled in Edinburgh where she taught at Edinburgh College of Art under the tutelage of Frank Morley Fletcher, whose influence she began making colour woodcuts. In 1913 she married the etcher Ernest Lumsden, who also taught at Edinburgh, and together they travelled through Europe, the Middle East and India.
In this planner informative text accompanies each work and the date pad features previous and next month’s views.
The 2023 year planner has been printed without plastic sleeves but with extended cover flaps to reduce plastic usage.
All profits from the sale of this planner support the work of the National Galleries of Scotland.
