100% cotton tea towel featuring Lady Agnew of Lochnaw by John Singer Sargent from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection, artwork printed on one side.

This is the portrait of Gertrude Vernon (1864-1932), commissioned by Lady Agnew’s husband, Andrew Noel Agnew, who was a barrister and barony of Lochnaw in Galloway. The popularity of the painting made Sargent become recognised and on demand as a portrait painter and also brought Lady Agnew some reputation as a society beauty.

John Singer Sargent is an American artist born in Italy who also travelled worldwide throughout his life. He studied in Paris where he developed his style, remarkable by his bold use of light in both portrait and landscape paintings. This towel is packaged with cardboard band with information and image of the artwork.

Wash on a cool wash, max 30 degrees. Dry flat, do not tumble dry
