Striking hammered gold disc and brass bead necklace based on fifteenth century renaissance style. Each of the eleven gold discs are mounted by a small faceted brass bead on a gold plated 925 silver hooks.

Half way through the 16th century general art styles changed in Italy. Artists started to draw inspiration from the Ancient Greek and Roman world. This necklace shows the Roman influence with the discs representing coins to show wealth.

Known in English as Titian, was an Italian painter, the most important member of the 16th-century Venetian school. Titian made a greater impact on European painting than any other artist from Venice. He was one of the most versatile of Italian painters, equally adept with portraits, landscape backgrounds, and mythological and religious subjects. His use of colour and development of a 'painterly' style of lively brush work has influenced generations of artists.
