Talks & Lectures | Clare Hunter: Embroidering her Truth

In this lecture Clare Hunter speaks about her second book, Embroidering her Truth: Mary, Queen of Scots and the Language of Power in which she revisits the familiar story of Mary, Queen of Scots through the lens of textiles and fabric. Specifically, she will consider Mary's lying in, her purchases for James VI/I as a baby, gifts she sent to him when she was in captivity and the bed furnishings she bequeathed to him when she died.

Clare Hunter has been a community textile artist, banner maker and textile curator for over twenty years.
