Welcome to this Welcome Audio Tour of the Conversations with the Collection display at the top level of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Modern One.
For this tour, our curators introduce the themes of the display room by room and explain how they have drawn from the collection of modern and contemporary art to unearth evocative stories and create bold comparisons between the artists, ideas and ways of making. The artwork highlighted in each track corresponds to a work located in that room.

In addition to the selection of paintings, sculptures, photographs and other artworks, this display showcases a tiny fraction of the National Galleries of Scotland’s world-class collection of Scottish and international works of art on paper. When not on display, these artworks can be viewed in our Prints and Drawings Study Room, based across the road at Modern Two, which is home to over 32,000 artworks.
