Since graduating in 1984 I have managed to continue painting. My work has been primarily inspired by landscapes. I returned to Edinburgh in 2017 after residing on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. This has renewed my interest in using the city landscape as my source. I like to make studies before painting to distance myself from the motif and fine rhythms in the shapes and line of my subject.
