Mixed media

I've always been fascinated with scenes relating to the representation of death in art. These include danse macabre (dance of death), memento mori (a reminder of death) and vanitas (the transience of life). I'm not as skilled as the Dutch artists of the 17th century but I wanted to produce my own vanitas at a skill level I'm comfortable with. Modern art has allowed so many artists to produce artwork at different abilities; I wanted to show my appreciation for art through this piece and regain my confidence as an artist.
