This portrait is of an artist at work – the sitter is playwright and performer Rob Drummond. I wanted to capture Rob's writing process. ‘It’s mostly sitting in a dark room on my laptop’ he told me. This portrait depicts exactly that: Rob is shown making final revisions to his script for Grain in The Blood, written and produced for the Traverse Theatre in 2016. Currently under commission to the National Theatre of Scotland, Rob's recently received the Screen International Rising Stars Scotland award.
