Harlequin Fence White Park Install
C. P. Gillespie and Gorgie Collective
Edinburgh
Story
On the Summer Solstice, 20th June 2020, Gorgie Collective artists installed a new public art sculpture in White Park on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh, named the 'Harlequin Fence'.
Our multi-coloured artwork symbolises hope, blossoming and regrowth. It was designed to lift the spirits of our community during a challenging year. The site-specific work comprises high-fired stoneware ceramics attached to the existing metal boundary fence. The sculpture provides a permanent counterpoint to the changing seasonal colours of nature in the park and we hope it brings a moment of joy to those who view it.
