End of Lockdown

Marie-Louise B. Mills

Edinburgh

Story
Time alone well spent

A strange solo event

No one to share or greet

Not exactly a real treat

I now hear the bird calls

And see and hear leaves fall

Before lockdown I never heard

Anything so absurd

The lockdown provided my senses to waken

A new awareness and thoughts unmistaken

Now my senses are revived

Heighten their clenches and survived

Once hushed before by different sounds

A rediscovery so fine a gift as a Sight Hound
