Unexpected Visitors

Story
The doorbell rings or there is a loud knock at the door. Unexpected visitors on the doorstep. Often a pleasure, sometimes an irritation, always a surprise.
And so it is in lockdown when unexpected visitors arrive.
The fox patrolling the patio in broad daylight, taking his ease, regarding me quizzically and moving off at a leisurely pace
leaving his calling card behind. How different from other times when all we glimpse is the gleam of his eye or the flash of his tail in the car headlights.
The gooseander, -with her gorgeous colours marking her out - caught on camera fishing amid the mallards and Canada geese who are the regular inhabitants of our stretch of river.
