Story
Alex and I went to the shops for the first time when he was about eight weeks old. I hadn’t been to the shops since the lockdown started, so I’d missed the queues and markers on the floor and plastic barriers. I thought it would be ok because in a zoom call one of the NCT women talked about how relaxing she found walking around M&S.

It was not ok. I ended up in tears, mask on, clutching a howling child and a tin of ravioli manically singing Ally Bally Bee in the tinned food aisle. We haven’t been back.
