This exhibition and project focused on the feared and respected ruler of Mysore, Tipu Sultan, as well as the Scots in India from 1760-1800. Bringing together textiles, manuscripts, and weaponry alongside prints, drawings and paintings, a chronological display told the story of Tipu's reign and the Anglo-Mysore wars.

Several portraits of the key players in this historic period were also displayed, including Purnaya; Mohammad Ali; the Mahratta Peshwa; Baird; MacLeod; Lindsay and Home  The centrepiece of the exhibition; brought together for the first time was two great paintings: a 23 foot long depiction of the Battle of Pollilur and Sir David Wilkie’s epic history painting “David Baird Discovering the Body of Tipu Sultan”.
