Vicken Parsons is a British artist who studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. Primarily a painter, she creates small-scale oil paintings on wood panel by applying very thin layers of paint. Her paintings often depict partial views of interior spaces or landscapes, some of which are painted from memory, others are imagined. In the early stages of her career she worked with her husband Antony Gormley as his studio assistant; now the couple occasionally collaborate. Parsons’ work is held in various public collections including Tate and the Arts Council Collection. She lives and works in London.
