About this artwork

Rogovin caught a fun moment between this dancing couple. The angle and composition of the image makes us feel like we’re part of the action and this is partly down to the camera Rogovin used. He took most of his photographs with a Rolleiflex TLR (twin lens reflex) camera, which is held at waist-height and has a viewfinder on the top that the photographer looks down into. This low perspective creates a sense of people being bigger and closer.
