The bold decor anchors this home firmly in this period and gives us some insight into the couple who lived there. The print on the wall (Tina by J.H. Lynch) was a popular addition to many homes at the time. This image is very similar to this other photograph and reveals Rogovin took multiple images of each miner in their homes. The different facial expressions and body positions in these two photographs tell slightly different stories.
