About this artwork

This giclée print shows Muriel Gray, a Scottish broadcaster and author who, with her trademark bleached hair and opinionated style, has become a well-known British TV personality. Born in East Kilbride, she graduated from Glasgow School of Art and became an interviewer on Channel 4’s pop show The Tube from 1982. She later presented The Media Show and The Munro Show, which documented her climbing Scotland’s highest hills. After starting her own production company in 1989, it was subsequently sold to media firm RDF in 2005. Since 1997, following an accident that left one of her children disabled, Gray has looked after her family whilst writing part-time. She has a regular column in the Sunday Herald and has published a series of horror novels.
