About this artwork

Kupferman’s work preserves the memory of the process that was its making. They are often, as a consequence, temporal pieces that do not express a single action or event but rather recall times, memories, situations, values and processes simultaneously. Of the importance of time, Kupferman wrote: “The existence of time, what happens inside it and what happens to us through it, must be present in everything”. Hence the importance of leaving the temporal process evident in the finished piece, or rather where Kupferman has chosen to interrupt the “action and reaction, action and reaction” of the works making.
