Figure on a Swing (painted version)
About this artwork
This sculpture was initially made as part of a group of three figures suspended from the ceiling: one stands on a swing or trapeze, one climbs a rope and this work, the third, is seated on a swing. Each figure was modelled in resin and cast in fibreglass before being painted. This, and other sculptures on the same theme, have been inspired in part by Davies' memories of the circus in Manchester where he was taken, every year, as a child.
