About this artwork
This is a kind of double ‘portrait’ of Frank and Lorna Dunphy. Frank was Hirst’s business manager. He and his wife Lorna were close friends of the artist for many years. Hirst made this work for their dining room. He asked them to gather things that spoke about their lives. He specifically asked for their pharmacy packets, which, like books, can say much about their owners. Frank’s pills for high blood pressure betray the demanding nature of his job. Hirst arranged Frank’s items in the left cabinet and Lorna’s on the right.
