About this artwork

This is one of just a handful of collages made by Lindner. It is unique in his oeuvre in being composed entirely of found objects. The piece shows the influence of Pop Art in the colours and ephemeral items used. Despite the bright colours, there are undertones of violence in the collage. A plastic gun points towards the split head of the mask. In the background are two figures marked for target practice and a target made out of shiny materials. A drawing of a rather menacing female face can be seen to the left of the mask.
