Untitled from the series As I Found Her: A Portrait of Eigg
About this artwork
Two percent of Scotland’s population live on 93 inhabited islands. This series documents Eigg’s tight-knit community of a hundred residents and the sense of belonging this creates. Photographed inside the islander’s homes and against the dramatic landscape, we are invited to imagine what it is like to live on an island away from the mainland and at the mercy of nature. Shown here are Jacky and Mick outside the B&B they ran on the Isle of Eigg.
