Over sixty years after Paul Strand visited South Uist, photographer Danny North spent time with a different island community. Visiting Eigg four times in 2016-17 he got to know the one hundred residents and found joy in becoming part of their community. Since 1997 the residents of Eigg have managed the running of the island themselves, with everyone involved in major decisions. To celebrate twenty years since the community buyout these portraits were displayed in the village hall in June 2017. This is Dylan at his croft in Cleadale.
