Nonnie and her daughter, from the series The 25 Percent, Edinburgh, Scotland
About this artwork
Amara Eno wanted to give single parents the opportunity to talk about their experiences. Each photograph in this series is accompanied by text drawn from interviews with the parents, presented in their own handwriting. They share both the joys of bringing up their children and the particular challenges faced by single parent families. Nonnie said: ‘My prayer is that the world will be more aware of hurdles and challenges that single parents face regardless of age, race or gender’.
