About this artwork

Best known as a film-maker and cinematographer, Peat made a series of still images of Glasgow in the late 1960s, in part, to create a portfolio for entry into the film world. These works were revisited by Peat some four decades later. With the assistance of printer Robert Burns, modern prints were made around 2012 and posthumously in 2013. Like a time capsule, the photographs reveal the city and its people at a distinct time in its history when the old tenements were being demolished.
