About this artwork
Born in Edinburgh, Lucy Ireland studied Modern Ballet at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. In her final year she undertook a Company Place at Scottish Ballet during their run of Ashley Page’s Sleeping Beauty. Since her graduation in 2012 she worked with The Michael Clark Company as a Dance Leader for The Barrowland’s Project, a dance event intended to mark the change in focus from London 2012 to Glasgow 2014. Ireland was the recipient of the 2012-13 Dancer’s Emerging Bursary Scheme. She worked on the feature film, Sunshine on Leith, an adaptation of the hit musical based on the songs of The Proclaimers.
