About this artwork
Aly Bain first showed his mastery of his native Shetland and other styles of playing when he teamed up with the singer and guitarist Mike Whellans. In 1972 the duo merged with Cathal McConnell and Robin Morton to form the Boys of the Lough. Scotland has a great tradition of fiddle music and this photograph was taken at Plockton village hall.
