About this artwork
This portrait is part of a series commissioned to celebrate Scotland’s entrepreneurial talent. A retail and property tycoon and one of the UK’s most prolific investors, Sir Tom Hunter is one of the country’s most active and committed philanthropists. This Ayrshire multi-millionaire made his first millions after the sale of the leisurewear chain, Sports Division. Since then his shrewd investments and partnerships have paid dividends. Now his Hunter Foundation invests in projects ranging from enterprise education in schools in Scotland; giving young people the chance to experience running a business; to health and education in Africa.
