Saturday Art Course for Young People (Ages 11-15)
Saturday Studio – Contemporary Art was a four-week Saturday art course for young people. Led by installation artist Juliana Capes, who was one of the artists employed to invigilate the Selective Memory exhibition in Venice, the course explored the work and ideas of the artists who represented Scotland at the Biennale. Participants also had the chance to make their own temporary site-specific works.

‘Making Connections’ engage Seminar: Working with Schools
At this seminar, held on 8 March 2006, speakers contributed local and national perspectives on the theme of ‘Working with Schools’, drawing on recent gallery projects. Practical, creative workshops for the participants, which took place in the Selective Memory exhibition, were devised by the Galleries’ Schools Education Officer. Organised by engage Scotland, this professional development opportunity was designed to support gallery educators, project workers, artists and others working within schools – in classrooms, galleries or the community.
