Communities

The National Galleries of Scotland works with a range of community groups.

The National Galleries’ buildings comply with all the requirements of the 2005 Disability Discrimination Act and are fully wheelchair accessible.

The Scottish National Gallery Information Desk and Hawthornden Lecture Theatre, Scottish National Portrait Gallery Information Desk and Farmer Education Suite are fitted with induction loops for the hard of hearing. Portable hearing loops available for visitors on guided tours at all of our galleries and at all public talks and events.

As well as disabled facilities, the Galleries’ ethos is to be as inclusive as possible for groups and individuals with disabilities. National Galleries staff are trained in working with groups with diverse visitor needs.
